160/166 - how bad would a third test look

Post by kob » Fri Mar 18, 2011 5:25 pm

Hi all,

I took the LSAT in September 2009 and got a 160, retook it in February 2011 for a 166. GPA is 3.5, so not going to keep me out or get me in to anything. I'd like to go to the best school possible, and was PTing in the 170s but got nailed on test day. Is it "worth it" to retake the LSAT? Would it look really stupid to have taken it 3 times? I'd like to go to BC/BU/GW/Fordham level places, or higher (some scholarship moolah would be nice too :) Thank you!

Definitely go for it if you feel you can do better...if you do worse it will hurt you only a little if at all and if you better it could make a huge difference

You should definitely retake. I took it 3 times (160, 160, 169) and my cycle has played out almost exactly like I just had a 169. It could potentially save you a crapload of moolah.

I'd rather apply with a 160/166/167 than a 160/166. Especially if I was looking at schools with 166 medians.
