Top Law Schools

I am choosing between the two schools, and I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge of the Canadian job market as opposed to coming from BU in the American market. I don't know too much about UBC, or about its average starting salaries, but I know I would not be opposed to living in Canada, if Canada has a promising equivalent to a big law career.

WTF? The real question is where do you want to work. If Canada then UBC hands down, if the US, take BU.

OP said he wouldn't mind practicing in Vancouver. Who would? Unless he has a special reason (like family) to want to practice law in Boston (which isn't likely, based on his/her statements), UBC is the smarter (and cheaper) choice. Vancouver >>>>>>>>>>>> Boston.

Also, with UBC, you have a 90+% chance of practicing law when you graduate, based on last class's employment statistics, which they are willing to send to all admitted students (OP, ask for this if you haven't already). At BU, being below median is the kiss of death.

Disclosure: Got accepted to UBC and withdrew after a successful LSAT retake. FYI, Big Law in Canada pays much less initially than Big Law in the USA. On the upside, you have a better chance of making partner.
