Linear
Advanced Linear
Pure Sequencing
Grouping
In/Out
Pattern
Hybrid

That's all I can think of.

And mapping games (though as rare as pattern games).

the tests now are coming up with hybrid games- whcih can combine 2 game types. be on the lookout for crazy combinations and be ready to use all of your skills and knowledge to conquor them.

In my opinion there are only really three types of games, some type of sequencing some type of grouping, and then hybrids of both, since the mapping games seem to have disappeared. All the other ones can really be defined as subsets of one of those three groups. In/out is a variation of grouping as are pattern games, straight linear games are basically sequencing with more limits, and so on. I found that once I could determine how each game fit into those classifications I really turned the corner on LG.

Basically, there are games in which you put things in order, and there are games in which you put things into groups. That's about it.
