Re: How high have you jumped?
I know some who have jumped 20+. Obviously you can't do that since 186 is not on the scale.AboveTheLawSchool wrote:Oh this site, if you can't get in to the T14 the general consensus seems to be to retake. However, how often has this worked out for people? I don't want to wait an extra year if I stand no realistic shot of raising my score.
I scored a 166 in October 2010, and I studied a decent amount, though I'm sure there was more I could do. But still, how much should I expect my score to really improve? How high have people on this site umped?

I went 163-->174. I think getting you score to 172+ isn't unheard of and maybe worth the effort.Adjudicator wrote:164 ---> 175.

153 with minimal study, 168 on test day after 30 PTs and LR and LG bibles.
2nd edit: lol, actually I forgot. 153 with minimal study and 55 mins for the LG section.

What? Thats absurd; there are plenty of schools in the top 30 going to.AboveTheLawSchool wrote:Oh this site, if you can't get in to the T14 the general consensus seems to be to retake.
15-30 with money >>>10-15 at sticker.
Success post graduation will be equally dependent on success at either institution, the differences are more than likely minimal.

Re: How high have you jumped?
The differences are probably more regional. I would guess a Vandy grad and a Chicago grad have similar chances in Nashville or Atlanta, but probably not so much in NYC or SF. I have no data to back this up, though.Excel wrote:15-30 with money >>>10-15 at sticker.

June 2010: 162
October 2010: 167
Those 5 points have made a huge difference in acceptance and $$$.
Remember, every point over 165 means money.
If I were u, follow the study tips of some of pithypike, tls1776 (I think that's his username, and LSAT.blogspot - Steve Shwartz).
Also, the Cambridge LR by type and LR Most Difficult did wonders for me.
My achilles heel was the LG. I tried everything. LG Bible, ACE the LG, still missed 6!!!
Also, I found the LR by ExamKrackers to be helpful.
Good luck!

Re: How high have you jumped?
I'm a slightly overweight white guy who hasn't played sports in a few years and who likes to smoke cigarettes and drink beer. So I can't jump very high.
I did improve my LSAT score 6 points though on a retake.
