Can someone please explain why B is the right answer to this question? I don't understand where "subcultures" comes into the picture. Thank you.

Creations of the engine of modern culture can be inferred to be subcultures.

The argument concludes that "modern culture threatens the national identities that now exist in the world" since there are so many new fashions, ideologies, religions, etc. But answer choice B suggests that most stable national identities already include a huge amount of subcultures, so why should we think that adding a bunch more is going to be a bad thing? It gives reason to doubt that modern culture is really a threat to existing national identities, it's correct.
