It seems to me that the assumption is that children would absorb all of the information beneficial for their preschool education because of their natural curiosity and that additional parental teaching does not contribute to this. I think you are going outside the scope with directed learning being detrimental to their education as the stimulus never alludes to this.

I would say that the assumption is that the child's parental teaching is incompatible with pre-school education - maybe they're teaching the poor lad or lass LSAT stuff instead of coloring with crayons - thereby rendering it unlikely to improve a child's pre-school education.
