Has anyone ever thought of retaking the LSAT during their first year of law school in order to boost their transfer application chances? Just curious.

If you're thinking about transferring, I believe they put the most emphasis on your LS grades. If you're thinking about re-taking the LSAT why not wait a year, re-take, and reapply to the school where you really want to be?

I don't think schools care about your LSAT for transfer purposes. Not reported/they already know if you are good at law school or not.

The stated purpose of the LSAT in ls admissions is to predict your performance in the first year of law school. Since you will have grades when you apply to transfer, this prediction is now moot. Focus on getting good grades since your LSAT is not as important.

Most likely zero people consider this while being a 1L since LSAT score is not a factor in LS transfer applications. Instead, your 1L grades, especially for first semester are what matters. Transferring into a T1 or T2 law school from a lower tier is pretty hard to do and few people pull it off each year.

To have a chance of transferring to a top tier LS from a lower one you have to totally rock 1L first semester finals and dominate the entire class, then pull that off again 2nd semester. It's way harder to do with much worse odds of working out than doing what it takes to get a high LSAT score and getting into a good LS as a normal 0L applicant.
