How much does it hurt to take the LSAT 3 times if you are shooting for T14?
e.g. Say you have Cancel -> low 160 -> high 160/low 170
Please help.

I don't think it matters much for any except maybe Yale and maybe Stanford. Anyway, it's kind of a useless question. If you've already got a cancellation and a low 160, you have nearly zero chance. If you add a 170+, you have a chance. So that's it.

With your numbers I don't think it matters as long as you improve. I took the test three times, 165=>167=>173, and I can assure I am much happier with three scores than with the one, especially since most schools outside the T6 just consider the highest LSAT. Plus I think it demonstrates a commitment to achieving at your highest level. I think if you were at a 170+ it would make less sense, but at a low 160 and a cancel it is an obvious retake.
