3.85 GPA - LSAT needed for T14?

Hi everyone. I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this post, but I was hopeful someone here could help me. I'd really love to go to a T14 school if at all possible, and I was wondering what some of you think I'd need on the February LSAT to apply next cycle with a good chance at some of those schools.

I've taken the LSAT twice already; I cancelled the first score and got a 164 on the December test (below my PT average of ~168). Could a high 160s score get me into some schools like Michigan, Cornell, or Berkeley (i.e. schools with a reputation of relying on high GPAs) or do I probably need a 170+?

Any help would be great! Thanks.

Just aim for 170+. Or how about this, just aim for 180 and see where you land. That's what I did.

With a 170+ your opportunities will be very intriguing.

you could probably get into UVa ED now. 50/50 though, don't hold me to it.

Lol, I see what you did there.

If you're applying next cycle, why take the test so soon? Take it in June. One month is not enough time to recover and prepare for the next test. If you take it in June, you'll be in a much better position to score high so you won't have to waste that GPA on TTTT Cornell, c'mon.

A 168/169 could probably get you into UMich/Cornell if the rest of your app is there. You need some icing on the cake for Berkeley.

168 and you should feel pretty comfortable. And even if it is the standard TLS answer, if you ED to U.Va with your numbers now early next cycle, you would probably get in.

I have a similar stat - 3.8 (but I don't know how the LSAC weights the GPA so it might be a tad bit lower). I got a 167 but I am retaking to hope to get 170+.

Does this mean UVA is the easiest to get into, ED? What about Michigan, Georgetown, Cornell?
Well Michigan might be a little easier to get into either way only because they do have a lower median. Same with Cornell, but they don't have any sort of ED boost, since... they don't have ED. As for Georgetown, a high GPA could definitely do it for a high 160's (read: 168 or 169).
UVA is known on these board for, among other things, their unorthodox ED policy. However, this usually benefits extreme splitters more than anything, especially if they're in-state. Doesn't mean you can't give it a shot though!
