10 Actual, 10 More, The Next 10, etc....

I got all 4 preptests: 10 actual, more, next, and the superprep.
Although I am bit concerned, are these far too outdated? Or will they be useful? I actually got recommended to these preptests by a person who scored 180, but I started too realize how all of these are LSATs from long ago. Did I waste my money here? Should I have bought those recent individual LSATs such as 61, 60, 59, etc, instead?

Use the earlier ones first, then work your way to the most recent.

They are not severely outdated but definitely different than the more recent. If you are only doing a limited number of preptests then you should do the new ones. i.e. if you were to do only 30 preptests, then you should do numbers 30-60. If you are going to do all the preptests, then by all means start with the Actual/More/Next.

Is there a significant amount of difference or changes though? Can you still use the skills you learned to attack them the same way?

Yes but the questions are different and gaining familiarity with the newer questions is definitely worth taking the new tests.
The LSAT is a big deal, don't skimp on studying for it.

They are definitely useful. They serve as a good introduction to the Logical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension sections. Be aware, however, that the newer tests are noticeably different.
These tests are most useful imo for logic games. The Dec. logic games were much more reminiscent of these tests than any other recent test by far. If you decide not to use them for LR and RC, at least use them for LG.

The old ones are different yes but not so much different that they are not useful. The same basic concepts still apply to all of the PTs, and the early ones are very useful when you are beginning to learn the intricacies of the test. You can break them down by section, or question types, or whatever in order to drill in the early stages of prep while not wasting valuable prep material for the new ones. The newer tests can then be used in their whole to practice timing and endurance.

I went through most of the first 10 before I took the December LSAT, and the things that blindsided me on my actual administration were the comparative reading passages and the "hybrid" games since it had been so long since I'd practiced. They give you one comparative reading passage at the beginning of the test book, but that was all I'd seen for months.

They released a new book of 10 which consists of fairly recent tests. It's the best deal at only 22 bucks (versus 8 bucks a pop)

I would use the most recent.

The RC passages in the older Preptests vary the most from present day tests, but the concepts are the same. I would get all 3 books as a starting point and start with the oldest.
When I began studying, I had a tremendous amount of difficulty with the games. I got the PowerScore LGB and both volumes of the game encyclopedia. I don't remember the games section from last Saturday, as I was on autopilot on Saturday, so I'm thinking I did well on that section.
I don't think there's a tremendous variance between LR past and present.
Based on my pre-test chats with fellow test takers, folks either a) do well on LG & suck at LR/RC or b) do well on LR/RC & suck at LG. I suggest taking a timed Preptest to see where you stand and plan your attack around that.
