I've taken the LSAT 3 times, Sept. '09, Oct. '10, and Dec. '10. When is the earliest time I'll be able to take the LSAT again? My search yielded that the next time I'll be able to take is Oct. '11, can anyone confirm?

I worked full time and went to school full time so I never had adequate time to prepare. I'll be done with UG soon so I'll finally have some time to study my ass off. Even with the time constraint, I was PTing in the 170s so I know I can score high enough on the LSAT.

That sounds right - no more than three times in a two-year period, so you just need to wait for your Sept '09 results to be outside the window.

How would one go about this? And what if I have no intention of attending the school I'll petition?

KevinP, if all three times you scored in the low 160s, you and I are twins. I've just taken it a fourth time - Dec 2010 - and I got a 167. Still working full-time, got no choice since I have to pay those bills. Thinking of taking it a fifth time and taking a leave of absence from work, I really think having enough time to fully commit to the test is key. Also, you're lucky that the earliest you can take it is October 2011, that gives you a good amount of time to prepare and it'll give you a chance to get your applications in early in the cycle. Do you have to petition every school you apply to individually? I did a cancel in June (didn't realize it counted as one of the three, ugh) and a December and would like to take it in June '11 and retake in October if June doesn't pan out). But I guess that's 4 times in 2 years. How do you even petition?

Thank you for the encouraging words. I definitely understand how hard it can be to work full time. I'm still working full time and going to UG full time, I sometimes don't sleep for 3 days during exam weeks. Now imagine trying to study for the LSAT under these conditions. Miraculously still managed a really good GPA.
When do you plan on retaking it a 5th time?

@Everyone else: I confirmed, the earliest I can take IS in fact October 2011 without requiring a school petition. I found that out when I went to register again.

No problem, it ain't easy to keep plugging away at it. I'm still debating whether or not I want to re-take. But if I do, it'll be in October of 2011.

Ha, maybe. I have to say though, the waiting threads just give me a lot of anxiety.

Have any of you applied in this cycle?

I've taken the LSAT 4 times (3 times in a two-year period)

The first time, I took it cold = bombed it
Second time I took it while I was working full time = bombed it
Third time in OCT 2010 while working full time = 156
Fourth time (took one month off between November result to December 2010 exam) = 163

I feel that the LSAT can definitely be learned - I figured out where I went wrong in my reasoning for certain question types and made a 7 point jump in one month (by taking 12 or 13 timed practice exams). I feel that I can definitely do better.

I wanted to know if you have received any feedback from schools regarding multiple LSAT scores - while taking 2 is pretty common, is taking 4 or 5 ranging on absurd?

Is it worth it to take it a 5th time, supposing I can get a 168+ or am I a raving madman?

My goal is to be able to get into a strong T30.
