So, how difficult to get a 170+ on your first exam?

I have a year and a half to study and I'm scoring in the 150s on the real exams before practicing or studying.
Is a 170+ a realistic goal?

hey iceland, you sound like a total dick.. and why buy the prep tests when obviously he/she already scored them for free? who is the dumb ass?
170+ is a tall order, but 18 months is a lot of time.. study as hard as you can, and come test date, give it your best shot. that's all you can ask of yourself. best of luck.

If I had 18 months to study, I'd be shooting for at least a 170.
But, as a future lawyer, you shouldn't be downloading pirated material. It is illegal. Plus, it is not like the prep-test books are not very expensive.

this is interesting - a thread containing future lawyers who will not uphold piracy laws on the account of a monopoly.
honestly, could you recommend a more efficient service option? i am So glad that we have LSAC - if you were to apply to other masters programs, you'd see how much of a huge hassle their apps, costs, and processes are.
For example, the GRE is $160+tax, and ETS sells one small book a year to sum up all of its test problems. Also, ETS doesn't handle the entire app process like LSAC does.
Compare the LSAC to the GMAC - GMAC's test is $250 + tax, and while you can send 5 reports for free, it costs $28 for each additional one...costs pretty much balances out with LSAC (probably more expensive). The GMAC also doesn't handle business school apps.

but yeah OP from what ive gathered around here from ppls nmbrs in relation to study time thats realistic.

A 170 is realistic, but studying for 18 months is a total waste of time. Anything more than 6 or 7 months is doing more harm than good IMHO.
You will run out of material and burn yourself out.

Do some logic puzzles for now...you know, those crappy little books you can buy at grocery stores, just to sort of get in the mindset. Maybe ask a philosophy professor at your school for a good intro to logic textbook? Or even take a logic course?
That's what I'd be doing if I were the OP.

I would also add, OP should start reading as much and as dense material as possible.
