I took the Dec test so I don't even have a score back yet, but just wanted to see at what score you think I should retake. My last 4 PTs avg'd at 166, the last 10 were 167, with a swing of 3 points either way. I haven't gotten a 163 in like 20 PTs. I really want to go to WUSTL, GW, BU, or Fordham, and the like, at least to have an okay shot at biglaw. My safety is UF mainly b/c I'm from Florida so it will be mad cheap, but I really want to leave the state. Other schools I think about are Davis, Hastings, W&L, UNC, and maybe American if I got lots of money (which I don't imagine would happen).

You're 50% to most of those schools with 167. Anything less than 167, retake for sure.

So you think its worth holding off law school for a year to get into my targets? I'm sure I can find some kind of job to do for a year plus, but I doubt it would be anything that would actually interest me. Then there's the fact that I've already burned through the last 30 PTs. I'm thinking that if I decided to retake I'd do Feb, since I still got LSAT on my mind and haven't done any of the superpreps, but still, there's not much more prep I think I can do.

If you can manage 173+ and don't mind paying sticker, you can get into really good schools (t14) if you wait until next cycle.
As far as you prep goes, 30 < 61. Don't take it in Feb though. If you're looking at next cycle, wait until June. Take a few months off of strict LSAT prep and start studying again in March or April. Between now and March, read a lot. Get a subscription of the economist and read it cover to cover every week.
You're applying so late in the cycle with numbers that don't make you the best candidate. You'll likely get a lot of denials just because you're late applying.

Heck if you can manage a 170+ you have a shot at the T14.
Since a retake isn't going to hurt you, if a 170+ is in the realm of possibility then you should retake.

				Best timed score I ever got was 171, then I've had 3 170s, and like 6 169/8s.
