I am freaking out here, because i just realized my CA driver's license expired 2 weeks ago.
LSAC guidelines says "government issued passport"...does this extend to international passports?
I have an indian passport which has a recent recognizable photo of me...
A quick response would be appreciated!

Yes, it does.
Your indian passport, if valid, should be fine.

At first I thought of trolling you by saying you would have problems with that passport, but I decided against it. Since LSAC guidelines say "government issued passport", there are two issues to be resolved in your case:
- Does India have a government?
- Does it have the mandate to issue identification papers like passports?
If your answer is yes to both, you are golden! HTH!
