Can anyone explain why E is a better answer than A? I originally picked E and then later changed it to A because the wording in the passage "for the purposes of overturning a degrading representation of blackness." What is it about A that makes it wrong?

There's no indication in the text that representations were a misconception. While we may all agree that they were, the text doesn't say that.

Also, "overturning" is a lot different than "correcting."

What do you think?
