I am strongly considering a retake. Scored a 165 in October. Looking for advice from TLSers who retook the LSAT.
How did you study for your retake? Did it take you a while to get back in LSAT mode? Did you need to study more intesively or less just to tighten things up and focus on weaknesses?

Please help me out as i am struggling with this decision.

I think this time I'm going to take a less intensive approach. Supported by the fact having not touched any LSAT stuff for over a month after October (164) i picked up an LR from Superprep C and went -0 finishing 5 mins to spare. I think the days of spending hours taking PTs and review made me go crazy. Definitely will not spend so many consecutive days studying and focus on learning a few things and letting them set in over a course of a few days, rather than PT-Review-PT 2 day cycles....

I was in a similar stituation as you (my first score was a 164), and I ended up getting above a 170 on the October test. Regardless of what some people say, you can definitely achieve a significant increase if you work hard enough.

The big difference between test 1 and test 2 was the amount of practice tests I completed. Before the first test I went through the Powerscore books and learned how to complete each section properly - before the second test I had completed so many sections that my behavior was practically routinized. On test day I wanted to guarantee that no matter what happened, I would score within my PT range. As it turns out, I scored my exact PT average on test day.

Don't strictly focus on your weaknesses. Make consistency a priority on every section.
