166--->168 Worth the disadvantage of applying after Dec?

Scored 166 with -4 on LG. I averaged about -1 preptests. I think I can improve to 168 with some light studying until Dec. I'm shooting for Berkeley, Duke, Georgetown, and Virginia in that order. Should I just try my luck with a 166? My LSAC gpa is 4.04.
FWIW, I scored -4 on RC, which is better than my average of about -5/-6.

not worth it...
furthermore, a 2 point increase is not guaranteed
you already have a very impressive GPA and it should suffice

Most law schools group LSAT scores into bands i.e. 160-163 or something like that. 166 to 168 or 169 won't do much for you. Now 170 would help, but as the previous poster said, your GPA is solid, apply now, don't wait unless you are 100% sure you can break 170. Many posters wish they had or not tested 2x since they either gained very little scored lower.

Depends on where you're applying. If your actual test was below your PT average.. then I would retake and study hard to go -0 in the games.

My PT average was right around 165/166. I don't think I will be able to get to a point where I can be above 170 100% of the time before Dec. Sounds like I'm just going to throw out as many apps as possible and see what sticks.
