Btw, I think it was massively unfair for LSAC to have this test right around when flu season begins. I'm not the only one that was ill the morning of the test!

Exact same score after exact same practice test average - W.T.F.bhangra23 wrote:EPIC FAIL HERE!!! got a 153 after pting in the 160s all summer!!!! had a cold and let my f-n nerves get the best of me!
But here comes the kicker - I've already applied to most of the schools on my list!! I felt like I did so much better than this and, frankly, believe laddering (bubbling the wrong # for a series of questions) may have been a factor.
What are my options?? Can I make an addendum after already submitting my app?? Will LSAC review my test to see if there was any laddering and report it to my schools??

Just wanted to join in on this thread. I literally feel like I need to throw-up. I don't know how I'm going to fall asleep tonight. Tomorrow I'm volunteering all day at a conference at the law school I wanted to go to. Salt in the wound!

I was pting around 175 and got a 160. Most disappointed I think I've ever been. Knew it didn't go well, but not this bad...

156 after PT range of 160-162 I only took this test to take the edge off of the Dec. test and planned to score 167+ in December. I have now pretty much given up on making that score by Dec. and looking at sitting out another year AGAIN!! and taking in Feb. or July. My problem was a stupid one, I was practicing with old tests.

I don't know if it was a "bomb" really, but I was PTing between 174 and 178 and ended up with a 170. I got a -7 on LG. I got an entire game wrong - read a rule wrong somewhere. I haven't done that poorly on a LG section since the very first games section I took. I feel a little weird retaking with a 170, but I'm already registered for December.

I was 4.5 points below my PT average. Taking an online course for the next month and prepping hard for December. Feeling pretty confident too. Ran out of time on LG costing me 4 questions, very abnormal for me. The other sections were -3/-4 LR and -3 RC. Happy with the RC, the LR was a little on the bad side. I think I can manage a 175 the next time.

Same. Just officially registered for December and have 6 weeks of what will hopefully be hardcore and productive prep ahead of me. If I bomb it again, I have no idea what I'll do at that point.JurisDoctorate wrote:Lower than my cold diagnostic.
A huge fail on this end.

exactly what happened to me. wow. crazy. trying to decide whether to retake in dec. or feb. what do you think? i feel like a longer break will help me face the practice materials with a cleaner slate? don't need to apply this year, so i don't have that time pressure.kingofspain wrote:I don't know if it was a "bomb" really, but I was PTing between 174 and 178 and ended up with a 170. I spent loads of money on books and two tutors, I studied for 3 months, I gave up my social life and I scored waaay below my PT average. I feel betrayed and angry and full of hatred for the LSAT.
Not retaking. If I couldn't do it with all that summer studying, I'm not doing it in one month. Fuck this test.

I had exactly the same thing happen. My average on practice tests (timed, no bathroom breaks, w. random expiremtnal section, etc) was 174 and I scored a 165 on October's test.
I truly can't believe it.

Why hello, LSAT twin. For many weeks I had been right on target with 173-175, with a couple higher outliers. Real thing - 167. I don't know what I'm going to do. It would be a miracle if I get into the schools I wanted with that.play2win wrote:What the fuck is going on. i was seriously PTing 172-175. Re: October 2010 LSAT Bomb Thread
I averaged 177 and just somehow bombed LR in October, I don't know what went wrong. Looking back all of the questions I got wrong the answer choices were blatantly obvious, there was only one question I am "okay" with getting wrong. I don't know what I was thinking as I took the test, something wasn't right. I did two LR sections this morning and got a -1 overall, finishing each section with 7 minutes left.
What the hell.
What the hell.

Peg, I'm in exact same boat as you are. October was my re-take, and after all the time and effort that I put in I only scored 1 point higher. There's no way that I can re-take again.

Re: October 2010 LSAT Bomb Thread
I scored pretty close to my cold diagnostic of 166 (I got a 167) after months of hours of studying a day. My distribution of items missed was pretty similar too.
I don't know, I see a lot of people who are scoring really close to their cold diagnostic, even after taking prep courses and hardcore studying for months. People were also commenting how the test seemed a little weird, like many of the questions were designed to counter the prep courses and specifically powerscore.
I just wonder if the fact so many people seemed to be scoring closer to their cold diagnostic is indicative of something they are trying to do with tweaking the test.

Re: October 2010 LSAT Bomb Thread
Hi guys, I wanted to join this thread because I feel your pain.
But here's what I think (keep in mind that I have yet to receive the coveted 170+ score) - you need to really understand the test. This means reading books on logic, taking prep courses, etc. The big difference between me a year ago and me now is the fact that I understand this test much better. So instead of going with an answer with a gut feeling, I actually know why answer choices are wrong.
Also - I used these two years wisely and I dont regret taking the extra time off. If you didn't get the score you wanted in October, I would warn you (based on my own experience) against taking it again in December. You won't have enough time to really try to understand the test. But use the extra time to get more experience in the legal industry, to make more connections, to understand the work better. It will serve you well when you are looking for a job, which is the point of all this anyway. Just my two cents.
