I've gotten good improvements, sure, but I obviously started out low so I've needed much more drastic gains but I haven't seen the "drastic."

I obviously have experience with the test and studying for it in general, and I also don't know how much material I have available to try to tackle this test for the 4th time. But I also don't want to wait until Feb scores to apply, since I did that last cycle and ended up pushing it to this cycle

I don't think you can take it more than 3 times.

You can only take it 3 times within a 2 year period.

I was told that you can have a law school submit a waiver on your behalf should you want to take it for the fourth time?

what do you guys think, do i show promise?

I think we need more information. What are you PTing at, which section is your weakest, and since you only have a little over a month left, are the mistakes you make careless ones or due to the time limit etc.?

Well, my breakdown was

RC back to back (one was experimental) test
LR1: -5
RC: -9
LR2: -4
LG: -7

The others are generally okay where I would normally avg (RC is a bit worse) but that -7 LG was really shitty for me. It was my section 5 and I was winded and my brain just wouldn't process. I would normally got 0, and maybe if I had a careless mistake, -1 or -2, but I try to minimize those. If I had to improve any other section, I might call this off but if I had gone -0 on LG like I should have, then I could have gotten a 165 and been done with this god forsaken test, but once again, it's luring me back.

Oh, and the only section I ran out of time was LG, so I blindly guessed D on the last 3 questions, and I got all 3 wrong.

my PT range was around 162-167, so I really feel like I can do better. If I can get a few extra points in Dec, then I think it can definitely overcome my slightly late apps too

I would wait until you scored better. I guess if you really want to apply this cycle you should.

read more, in general. get REA practice makes perfect logical games, go through it twice. retake, if possible.

edit: go through lr bible several times, take notes.

You seem to be missing quite a few in LR and LG. LG should definitely be a -2 at most and LR -6 total. The hardest part to improve on is RC but it is definitely doable. If you can get a waiver from a school then I'd recommend retaking. Best of luck to you.

From my experience I can say do NOT retake in December. People seem to think that they scored way below their practice average so something extraordinarily bad must have happened to them on test day. These same people go ahead and retake only to get the same score or even a score slightly lower. It happens all the time. Take it from me, wait until June. Work harder than you have in your life. Create a solid plan for improvement. Don't settle until you are REALLY scoring at least 5-6 points above your goal. Strict time, fill in bubble sheets, never peak ahead, having a friend/spouse proctor you, and having them correct it for you is the most realistic approach.
