Sigh.

take 1 - 16X
take 2 - pneumonia - cancel
take 3 - (oct 2010) 16X MINUS 1

Can't bring myself to take it a fourth time even though I was PTing at 16X + 4

Yes you need a school to approve it.

sorry to hear that. I'm retaking each time even though i've been improving considerably every time but I started in the low 150s so my current score isn't that impressive by any means. I think I can hit upper 160s at the very least so I'm retaking again!

Can I just send a school I was gonna apply to an email that requests permission for me to take it the 4th time?

Message me, I'll help you out tomorrow. I scheduled ahead of time just in case I bombed Oct.

Not all schools will do it.
UC Davis wouldn't do it, saying they didn't participate in that program, but that they would take the score if another school gave it to me.
Pacific did it but I had to send in my app to them first.
good luck.

You only.need a school to approve if its 4 time in under 3 years (e.g. I've done it 3 times over 5 years. Since I just got.a 169, I may not need to a 4th, but could without probs)

Most schools, you just get in touch, say you don't think it reflects your potential, and will they sponsor you. Most will. Apparently.

Good thinking on preparing beforehand...I'm so lost on this process since I didn't even entertain the idea of taking it 4 damn times. So what's the easiest and painless way of going about this?
