Application complete...Think LSAC is releasing scores today?

Post by OmbreGracieuse » Thu Oct 28, 2010 12:39 pm

So, I applied to Harvard and got a letter today saying my application was finally complete. They had been waiting on my second LSAT score (I was a retake).

Think this means scores come out today?

that would be unprecedented, so I'm inclined to think not.

That is very interesting. I wonder if you called Harvard and asked them what your score was if they would give it to you. Then I realize the answer to that is no. Then I post this anyway.

Call them. Seriously. You should be able to ask about your own info. Tell them you want to double check if they are aware that you would like them to wait for the Oct. score.

That's a pretty reasonable request. "Hey, I noticed my file went complete and October scores aren't out, just wanted to make sure you were still waiting for my retake scores."

While you're at it, ask them what the curve is

I think its pure coincidence, but I just thought it was funny that today I received an application waiver to Illinois. Yes I know they are waiving everyone's fees, but why wait to send it today?

Anyhow, best of luck to you at Harvard and I would definitely call, it can't hurt.

Call... Immediately... It's the quickest way to find out if scores have been released. However, seeing as another thread said that the LSAC said it'll take 24-48 hours for scores to go to schools - I think there was a mix-up and they are going off of your June score.

As I was reading this, I got a waiver from Cumberland (which apparantly is Samford's law school). If theoretically they did know my score, I don't know if I would take that as a good or a bad sign.

Harvard DOES probably have your scores.
But this has happened before.
Harvard is also perfectly aware of the fact that scores don't come out till tomorrow.
Unless you want to seriously affect your chances, you should NOT call Harvard.

I don't see why we'd get scores today given "tradition," and I doubt schools will know scores before we do.

As with apps, I haven't sent any yet, but I didn't get waivers either.

If the app. is complete, I assume they would be going off the most recent LSAC report that was sent. Since we can view the reports, wouldn't it show the score? Unless there was a previous score available, in which case a new report should be sent out over the weekend...

How? I heard the LSAC said that they don't send them to schools for another 24-48 hours after we get them.

All of this speculation is silly, and I need to get off these forums at least until tomorrow so I don't lose my mind

They almost certainly don't have your scores, which is why you should probably make sure that they didn't mark your app as complete with your June score.

This may just be a side comment... but I have always read that Harvard frowns upon retakes. Maybe even if you did say you retook in October they would not care and would make a decision based off the June score.
