DECEMBER 2010 DOMINATION

Post by supremeendeavor » Fri Oct 15, 2010 5:28 pm

I didn't see thread dedicated to the December test yet, so I figured I'd start one.
We have exactly 57 days left until the December 11th test.
Let's keep each other motivated, and determined to reach our respective goals.
Please share study methods, schedules, neuroses, current PT scores, etc.

LET'S DOMINATE THIS TEST!!

Yes!... and if we don't dominate we can retake in February! (not as exciting).

What is this "retake" you speak of?
I'm looking to make this a one-shot deal. Take it, do the very best that I possibly can (which means prepping as much and as thoroughly as I can), and forget about it.

Please... post questions, study schedules, etc... This is the OFFICIAL December 2010 thread!

Due to being a bit anxious on LR1 I will be retaking. I am
hoping for a 166-168 in October and a 172 plus in December. I will resume studying in November. Working pt 45-61 again.

I studied for a couple months, went through blueprint the movie, looked through LGB and some of LRB bible. I decided to not take the exam, I "went" absent hearing that some admission offices may see a cancel negatively, it may have given you an advantage of having a run through. I was PT'ing around the median of schools I am looking at, but these medians are FAR from a guarantee of anything. I made up my mind about a week before the oct exam that i was going to continue studying and redo in dec no matter what, so there was no point taking it. I have seen close to all the accessible PT's available, not 1-20 though. I ordered the grouped by type/section which includes of all these. What is the consensus of taking these and gauging against the tests now. I know that RC and LR has become harder, but it seems that some of the oldest games were more challenging than some more recent games. Perhaps subtracting ~3/4 from Raw score from these old exams would equalize for the difference in difficulty? For those of you have done well, did you see much help, if you did in fact, looking at these first 20 exams?

One thing that I have been doing recently is after doing a section or full test, with each incorrect problem I am forcing myself to write ~1 sentence explanation of why each choice is correct or incorrect. My scores on the games is consistently -2/3, hoping to improve that even more but I am not overly considered with it that much.

what is everyone else doing differently for this second round of prepping? I believe that the blueprint course did give me a great base to go from, and I have access to the class for the december exam as well, so I am going to be utilizing that along with going through bibles again. The greatest insight into the test seems like going through each problem/game and actually figuring out the ins/outs/patterns, including why something is wrong, not just why it is wrong. that advice is given repeatedly on the form, but it was not until the latter part of my studying i took this advice.

I'm doing the same thing. I hope I don't ruin the positive energy radiating from this thread, but I'm a little scared that I won't get what I'm aiming for in December and will be shit outta luck since I will have burned through the 30 most recent PTs by then (excluding Feb PTs). Anyone have any experience with that?

Is anyone else taking the test after 2 days of finals? Anyone else missing graduation ceremony to take the test? Anyone else have plans to get hammered after the test until the sun comes up the next day?

Planning on taking the December test and i"m hoping to be one and done. I was wondering though, if I have to retake the test in Feb. can I still expect to enter school (Chicago area) in the fall of 2011?

Thanks and good luck to everyone.

Ready to dominate with the rest of ya. Currently fine-tuning my LG so that I can get -0/-1 on each section. Just doing every single game from tests 1-38 based on type. Hopefully everything will be like second nature after the next few days..

Been studying since about April and wasn't ready for October. I am barely making mid 160's and once in a full moon, I hit low 170's.
Being quite representative of the splitter group (I have a 2.61 from MIT), I know I'll need a 170+ to get into any good schools.
Worst section is Reading Comprehension. These 50-some days will be more than plenty in sharpening those reading comp skills... I think.
Good luck to all. We will all need it during those last few seconds of each section!

Quick Q:

For those of you taking the test in December (for the FIRST time) and planning on entering LS in fall 2011: Have you all already started / officially opened applications to schools? I am hesitant to open apps BEFORE I receive my score because I will be applying to schools based largely on how I do on the LSAT. For example, I would hate to apply to Wisconsin (my #1 choice) and then find out that I bombed the test...?

I apologize in advance if this question is redundant. I'm sure it is. Any thoughts or input are much appreciated. Thanks.

just took the october test, and have run out of all prep material. Im allready signed up for december ( plan B) and am starting to get materials to prep with. Does anyone know of a good site to get a bundle of official lsat tests. I did all of the ones from the 44-59 ( not in order,) and am thinking of using tests 31-39 and some from 44-59 again, plus 60. If anyone knows of a good deal to get them, please let me know thanks
