# of test takers for the October 2010 LSAT

Anyone know how many people took the LSAT in October? I took the LSAT back in December and there were a LOT more people taking it then as compared to when I retook the test a few days ago. Is this a general trend or just an isolated change for my location? I'm not sure when LSAC releases this info but I would be interested in knowing how the June & October test dates compare with 2009.

LSAC takes a while to update that info on their site - it'll be updated approx 3-4 weeks after the test date.
I'll take a look and see if I can find the new link on their site - they've changed things around recently.
EDIT: You can see info re: # of test-takers for previous LSAT administrations here:
http://www.lsac.org/includes/tests-admi ... -grid.html
This is where they'll likely include info for the October administration.

If you match those volume numbers up against a chart for the Dow Jones over the same period its pretty interesting.

Don't believe they update that data every year.
Most recent I see on their site is for the 07-08 cycle:

Pretty fascinating stuff, though.

I don't want to say this is correct...but I am pretty sure I saw someones numbers from last year..
*I think* 170,000ish tests given...I believe that number is over twice the number of applicants & people taking. I think the average # of tests per person is right around twice.
I'm trying to find that link...

I also recently saw numbers showing over 170,000 LSAT test takers for last cycle.

Agreed. Here's a chart that matches up LSAT test takers against the US GDP

When jobs are scarce, many head to graduate school.

Hey, graduate schools love it. Better people coming in.
Of course, when the doctorate program you're looking at accepts 6 students and close to 300 apply (and this is one of the best acceptance rates)...

Just sayin', but
Legally Blonde came out right before the big uptick in LSATs.

Therefore, Legally Blonde caused the GDP growth rate to crater.
Which of the following arguments exhibits a similar flaw as the one above?

Honestly...
Most of these students are aiming for a law degree to get rich. In a 2008 Kaplan survey, 73 percent cited high income potential as a reason for attending law school
Of course it is a reason, it is one of many reasons.........I wouldnt be spending three years of my life at law school if I didn't think I could make money at it.

I'd assume it's between 50-60K.
Less than last Oct, but more than last June considering the trend.
