I suppose the real RC would appear in common across different sets of RC, while the experimental being different. but.. what if both the real and experimental vary among test sets? im really concerned i might not be able to figure out which was real and which wasnt.

i sucked on the second rc.. fingers crossed the first is real.

Sorry to break it to you but the second one is real... The experimental is always in the first 3 sections.

It doesn't matter. The first one is the experimental. If you had 2 RC sections before the break, then it might matter, but as it is the second one is the real one. The experimental section is always in the first 3.

There were a couple of posters here who said they took it in china and south korea and their 5th section turned out to be exp.

where did you take the test? If you took it somewhere other than the US, the test has to be different.

What?! I do not believe a word of this. The reason LSAC puts experimentals in the first three sections is because they don't want fatigue to factor into the equating (i.e. arguably taking the exerpimental in the 5th would mean you are more likely to underperform than if you were to take it in the 2nd...generally this holds true) and I don't see how this would change depending on where in the world you wrote the exam.

This... plus, given the fact that overseas tests are undisclosed, LSAC often gives out different tests per region (for example Australia might get the same one as the U.S. Sunday Sabbath while China and India get different ones from each other), the general vagueness with which this is discussed on TLS, the tendency of LSAC to reuse similar subjects in their questions, and the fact that many people's memories aren't that trustworthy post-exam, it is likely they are mistaken. But we'll never know, since they're undisclosed anyhow.

someone who took the test outside south korea had two RCs with one on black history and UN human rights and another on Kant and chimps.. Kant passage was experimental.
My test set does not have the same real RC with his but I do have one RC in common, the RC on Kant, chimps, and pidgins.. so i conclude this, my section 1, was experimental.
and kazu, you also mentioned the experimental is likely to appear in the first three sections of a test..
Although it breaks my heart that the last RC is likely to be real, i'll have to deal with it. i'm not going to dwell on this test any more. this forum is addictive.

Hey don't count on the info you got from the US version. You need to talk to Asian takers to figure out what your experimental section is. I took June 2010 LSAT in South Korea and my experimental was Sec03. I still doubt that the experimental would be sec5 (it never happened before at least in the US tests) so I think sec5 is the real one.

I took October 2010 LSAT in the US and had RC dummy. It had Kant and Augustine in it. It's very problematic if one of the passages in experimental section in the US appears as one of the real passages in Asia...
