So in practice I've been bubbling RC after every passage, LG after every game, and LR when I finish two face to face pages (except for the last couple of questions when I bubble each answer as I'm usually sort on time at that point). Does that sound like effective strategy? I'd be interested to hear about people who do it differently.

Sounds good to me, although I bubble LR after each page, but in my experience these things aren't that important. If it's comfortable for you then there is no need to change things.

Just fill in the damn bubbles as you answer questions. I can think of a million reasons why not doing so could backfire.

If you are taking the test tomorrow, stick to the bubbling routine you are used to and have been using. Changing things up and trying something new on the day that counts is never a good idea. I've heard horror stories from people that had a bubbling fiasco that killed their score. The typical one is accidentally offsetting the row they bubbled the answers in so half or more of the answers for a section are bubbled in a question # row that is one off from the actual question number.

That's exactly what I do.

I've been bubbling the last 3 PTs that I did, and what I find to come naturally is to bubble both LR and RC after each question, but bubble LG after completing each separate game.

"Strategy" often goes wrong. Do the test like you would any scantron test.

"Strategy" can pay off if taught correctly. You can save a few precious seconds on each group of answers if you stick to bubbling in groups of questions, especially on LGs.

Conversely, I can think of at least one reason why bubbling as you go can backfire, especially if you aren't marking down the answers in your test booklet.

Batch bubbling has the advantages of both being time efficient and keeping your attention focused on the test booklet. If you insist on bubbling one at a time, good for you. I'll be over there double checking ALL of my answers (twice sometimes!) in 35 minutes.
