I get right all the ones 80 percent of my classmates in TM get wrong.(the harder questions towards the end)

I get wrong the questions 80 percent of the class gets right(the first 10).

This has been on a consistent basis.

Additionally, my preptests have been all over the place:

148, 160, 171, 160, 166

should I take DEC?

if you've only taken 5 full preptests maybe you should push it to dec regardless

in all honesty, with such a small sample size with such high variance, i really can't make any opinion either way. If I had to guess, you're likely to be avging around mid 160s, but even that's early to conclude

This is of course complete generalization and conjecture on my part, since five PTs is not nearly enough to draw trends from. You should really having been taking tests outside of Test Masters, I know that when I took the LSAT I had done around two or three times the number of PTs that you have. I agree with Lsatextreme that you should really consider postponing the test until you have taken many more practice tests (or at the very least plan on retaking in December).

As for getting many of the first few questions wrong try deliberately slowing down on the first ten questions (so long as you find yourself with a few minutes free at the end of the section).

That is a pretty erratic spread of scores. What is the time line of when you got each one, in order and how do those dates fit in with the time you have been doing serious prep? Point of my question is to figure out if you have had big improvements after prepping more/getting educated more about all things LSAT.

Also, any unusual or notable circumstances when taking the tests you scored much lower and higher on that might account for the disparity of your timed scores?
