Whats the best way to approach the LG questions that asks "which of the following rules if substituted for Rule A would have the same effect in determining the arrangement of the game"?

Here's a great thread on rule substitution questions. They appeared only on 57, 58, 59, and the undisclosed Feb 2010 exam. Didn't appear in 60 (June 2010).
