Is there any hope for me?

I currently my range is about 163-166 after taking 45-53. Is there any hope of hitting around 168 on test day? Right now I'm average about -5 per LR section -6 in RC and -1/-0 in LG. Should I start thinking about saving some tests for December?

Yes. Save 4 post-53 tests. No point in doing more than 3-4 tests in the next 10 days either way. If you get lucky and get a good score, you can burn the tests. If you don't do well or fall within your avg., retake old tests, review, and don't touch the new stuff until late Nov. GL.

yes just take pt 54, 56, 58 (save 60, 59, 57, 55)
Use PT 54, 56, 58 to DRILL LR if you want to hit 167/168

Is there anything I should be doing to improve until the 9th? I have been taking a test every other day and reviewing on off days since the beginning of the month. I've been looking at the incorrect answers and writing explanations for why I was wrong and what makes the right answer superior.
As far as drilling will using 40-45 help or is the LR that much different now?

You are very close.
Focus on acing LG and you will be there.

It will take more than LG. If RC stays the same I need to get LR to about -3 per section. LG is usually a stupid mistake somewhere, so it's hard to nail that down to a consistent -0.

I'd say take a day or two out to read over your explanations on wrong LR and absorb them. Also, I would say review RC comparative passages. They seem easier to improve on, especially in 2 weeks. Just my opinion. Read all the question stems for the comp. passage. On test day, you can do that passage first to "warm up"...unless it turns out to be really hard.

hey, i'm in the same situation as you OP, my average score is about 160-166, but I desperately want a 166+ on test day.....I did every PT until PT56 now, I won't save up the rest of my PTs for retake in December since it's unlikely I'll do that. My LR score seems to be improving ever since I started doing some difficult questions untimed. But while this happens my usual best section - LG - seems to go downhill again from PT54 (-0 for a while to -5 on PT56). I'm really disappointed about that, I went ahead and redo every game from PT29-38, not sure if that helps. But there seems to be no chance of getting 165+ unless I secure the LG......RC is consistently my worst section, can get from -5 to -12, it really depends a lot on how much the passages 'suit' my style....
in the upcoming days I plan to do PT57-60 every other day, and the rest of the time drilling LR and LG. Does it sound like a good plan? and with my terrible score on RC is it sensible to ditch it altogether at this time?
