extra few seconds

This may sound kind of stupid, but i was just wondering since I sometimes finish 30sec-1 min over the time if there is some small significant amount of time from when the proctor says pencils down that you can still look at the questions until you have to start the next section.

I think you can conceivably look at the previous section until the proctor tells you to turn the page to the new section. Just dont mark/erase anything or you will be in trouble.

Like 5-10 seconds.

Related: If "pencils down" is called, can you bubble two or three guesses in under 3 seconds, or will that get you disqualified?
Any anecdotals?

"Pencils down" means "pencils down". Disobeying that is grounds to get a misconduct notice. I recommend you bubble in those guesses at least 3 seconds earlier.

It's breaking the rules so yes. Each LSAT answer sheet is time sensitive so any answer marked after time is called will cause the answer sheet to crumble into pieces.

Why would you risk that? Just bubble in the last few bubbles when he says begin on the next section. I don't want to get into the argument of how 5 seconds wasted on the next section won't kill you but I figure its worth it as opposed to letting the proctor decide for you.

Both are breaking the rules and i dont really see why one would be preferable over the other.

you can totally tell who still has their pencils racing after the "pencil down" is called, especially a proctor at the front of the room. Whether or not the proctor lets it go is another issue, I wouldn't risk it. I heard of someone being thrown out for drinking water in the middle of a section after the proctor told everyone that waters must be on the floor at all times.

One is visible. One is not if you see all the proctors & know that none are close enough to see that you're doing it (one proctor?)

Look, I'm not advocating for anyone to break the rules or anything. But hypothetically, s/he calls pencils down. Your head is up but your eyes are down and still scanning #25 for your LR section. You see A as a winner but you don't write anything, just keep it remembered. He calls time to start the next section and you look down and bubble in #25, A. I think that's a lot safer than having your pencil moving after he calls time.

Anecdotally, the chick next to me on the LSAT blatantly filled in for 2-3 seconds after each section. She was finally given an official misconduct after the third section. Don't do it, it's way more obvious than you think.

Since no one else has given a number, can I assume everyone had this same experience?

Btw, I heard you actually get 35:15 on test day to give you extra time to bubble in answers is this true?

maybe some proctors don't call time exactly at 35:00 but I'd be willing to bet 35:15 isn't standard

If you have decided that you must break the rules, the best way is probably to bubble when the next section starts as that would be extremely difficult to catch, but it is still breaking the rules and you are risking not only your test but your entire legal career.

Just bring a watch and when there are 15-30 seconds left, bubble in whatever you have left as a guess and call it good. If you think you had to guess on too many or left too many blank, you are honestly probably better off cancelling, walking out and retaking than you are trying to cheat and risking the misconduct on your record.

you could have your friend throw a flashbang into the room as time is called, just make sure you close your eyes. That will buy you some extra time.

I would imagine unless someone is standing "right" behind you, you could get away with bubbling in an answer in previous section while doing the next section. Like the guy said above, read number 25, figure out the answer you want, remember it. When you get to 25 in the next section just bubble your answer in previous section. It would be hard to argue when someone catches you bubbling after time is called, but (assuming the bubble sheets are the same as practice exams) to say someone was bubbling in another section you would really need to be standing right over them to accurately see that.

I believe the actual LSAT answer sheet is just like the ones in the PT books, all 5 sections on one sheet. And I also believe there's just one proctor in the room.

There's no rule that says you cannot bubble a previous section after the new section starts, as long as your booklet is in the right section.

That said, if the proctor questions you, say you were fixing an incomplete bubble. On other standardized tests, I've bubbled so fast, that I've actually had to do that, and no one's ever messed with me about it.

There will be more than one proctor in the room.
