16ish Days and counting...How are you spending them?

Post by Shammis » Thu Sep 23, 2010 2:20 pm

Wondering what people's final prep is looking like for October. As it stands, I'm working on Pt's every other day and Drilling in between...people speak of burnout, I think burnout is kinda like a unicorn...

it varies people to people but it does happen a lot. also most of those who speak of burnout are those studying everyday for long hours or those who study everyday for months.

PT every other day and review the answers I got wrong. I spent the day not studying working on applications and my personal statement. I start work next week, so I am trying to get this crap out of the way now, so I don't burden myself after the test.

I have roughly 11 PTs left to take, hopefully I can get through all of them. It doesn't take me long to review, so PTs are pretty much all I'm doing.

I'm also taking a Kaplan practice LSAT on Saturday.

That's the only thing I wish PowerScore had...the Four proctored tests arent enough IMO

I have taken the test 4 times. Doing what I haven't done the last 4 times. Chilling, relaxing, and not caring. I take a 35 minute section during my lunch breaks, and 1 full test on Saturday mornings.

But, my problem is not the material. It is test anxiety. So, I am relaxing, and keeping my speed up. I am working like a dog 40 hour weeks, and night school.

If you do not have it down soon Oct. 4 or so. You never will for Oct.

Just need good sleep, and rest.

My big advice is DO NOT MAKE THE TEST YOUR ENTIRE LIFE. I did this and it did not help.

Felt burnout BADDDD the past couple of days, so I took the day off today to let my brain rest.

I'm so lucky. The games I'm waiting for don't come out until AFTER (or day of) the test.

COD: Black Ops release - 10/9/10
Fallout New Vegas release - 10/21/10

thank God, New Vegas comes out after the test. If it came out before, my final week of prep would be shot.

I take one PT and six pacing sections (3 LR, 2 RC, 1 LG) a week. I also see a tutor once a week for two hours.

I can do 2 a day if I don't have to do anything else requiring mental energy that day. Given that I work full time, it doesn't happen very often.

Sorry for lacking clarity, but I am self preparing.
Kaplan does their proctored practice tests that anyone can show up to, they just try and get you to take their class if you do (Kind of like a timeshare giving you free stuff to listen to their presentation haha).

I have heard that comparatively Kaplan is probably overpriced compared to the others because of the name recognition, and when it comes down to it, it all depends on the instructor you get.

Im doing the same thing. Im going to get through 1-2 PTs today and take the Kaplan one tomorrow. Its a bit difficult trying to study during the week with all of these senior finance classes monopolizing my time, but I just have to make it work for another 2 weeks or so and then Im in business.

I've already planned out my day on the 8th so I wont be tempted to do any studying. Its "Wall Street on Campus" for me!

When I take two in a day, I wake up early and take one in the morning...relax, lunch, work etc...then take one at night. If you're having problems with stamina, try doing that a couple of days. We have two weeks, no need to start slowing down now.

Why not just calculate the number of hours?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
