PT 52 RC easier than 54 and 55 ?
I usually score -3 to -5 on the RC section(Done about 30 PT). I scored a -3 on 52 and 53 but got murdered on June 2007, 54 and 55 where my score was -9,-10,-11.Fatigue was not a factor . Did anybody else face the same problem ?

Re: PT 52 RC easier than 54 and 55 ?
Just did 54 and got -5, I usually went -1 to -3 before hitting the newer ones. My feeling is the differences among answer choices have become highly ambiguous, which is very worrisome. Case in point is the Q27 of PT54, i can only confidently exclude C and D and what I felt when I was dealing with this question has become more and more pervasive.prithvis1987 wrote:I usually score -3 to -5 on the RC section(Done about 30 PT). Can't comment on 54/55, since I haven't gotten to them yet, but I did 52 today and I got a -3. My RC average is usually around -7, so I was very impressed with how I did. Or maybe this RC was just a joke. Idk which haha.

Ya, at no time prior to these recent RCs have I seen an LSAT question that I couldn't, after some period of time, find the correct answer for and know exactly why it was correct. These RCs require you to resort to POE far too often. I find that I make mistakes on recent RCs by prematurely eliminating the correct answer when I don't see sufficient support for it in the passage. Then, when I have two or three incorrect choices left, I waste a lot of time trying to pick the best one.ocean wrote:Just did 54 and got -5, I usually went -1 to -3 before hitting the newer ones. Are you just starting out the 50's/have you also done 50, 51, and 53? I think the RC in the 50's may generally be harder than those from the 40's, so you may just be noticing more salient increases in 54 & 55 relative to 52.

I did 53 today and got my worst RC score by far. The English common law passage completely stymied me and threw off the rest of the section.

Ugh, I hated that passage. I was stuck on it for the longest time, ended up missing two questions on it, and ended up missing two more questions on the strawberries and pests one because I was short on time from the law passage. :<RFKScott wrote:I did 53 today and got my worst RC score by far. I did 50,51 and 53 sometime back with a consistent score of -5. I think the level of difficulty has definitely increased. I have done all RC of the 40's and the Only Preptest in the 40's i had trouble on similar lines as the 50's was Preptest 43 with the Puerto Rican Code Switching. The Riddled Basin of Attraction and Maize was hard but manageable to certain degree. I found PT 57(-9) hard as well with Willa Cather and Fractals passages. The 50's seem to have 2 Difficult Passages compared to 1 on the older tests and the questions are not straightforward like old PT's especially the Main Point question and inference questions.Almost like LR Questions. This kinda upsets the timing since its harder to move on with there are two equally good options. If anybody has any tips on how to beat the latest RC please do post . Thanks.

I do believe 52 may have been easier. RC is one of the most inconsistent sections for me but I managed a -3 on this one which is the best I've done. Who knows maybe we'll get similar passages come test day.....

same here....RC keeps destroying my score whenever i get -1 or -2 in other sections. I got a whooping -13 on RC 54. GREAT.crysmissmichelle wrote:RC 54 was really bad for me. . .felt like it was okay doing it, but then when I checked the answers
I ran out of time to finish the comparative passage (4 mins left) and there's only 1 question that is based on passage B only. so for the rest of the questions I guessed D and it turns out NONE of them is correct. how more unlucky can I get?
