Desperately need some advice about admissions

Hi everyone, I'm in a real dilemma and need your advice
I was admitted to my #1 choice this past fall 2010 but decided to attend law school closer to home due to unfortunate personal events that came up this summer. My parents were separating and I felt obligated to stay and support my 10 year old sister. I enrolled in a school closer to home and 3 weeks into the semester i withdrew. I was not satisfied with anything about the school and realized I made a mistake not attending my 1st choice. Now that some of my personal issues have been resolved, I want to apply for spring to my #1 choice.
Do you think this is a valid excuse that I can use in an addendum to explain why i did not enroll to my #1 in the first place. Will my chances of admission be effected? My #'s are above avg for the school but im worried that enrolling and withdrawing from the other will hurt me
I appreciate any advice, Thank you
