I feel your pain. Practice makes perfect, just not in your case....jk
Take a mental break for about a day or two and then approach a pt confident and refreshed. Little things like calming down and mitigating your stress can make a world of difference.

What are you using to study? You can (but usually don't) get better by just doing PT after PT after PT...but usually you need someone/something to explain some of the higher concepts to you.

At least you're consistent!
I feel your pain... I'm plateauing at 175-177 lately despite previously scoring a 179 and 180. I keep falling victim to careless mistakes and I can't seem to get over the hump.
Maybe today will change that. Good luck to you; keep going, I bet you'll break 170 any time now.

I'm using the Bibles and a Cambridge multi-pack I bought. I alternate e.o.d doing LG and LR, by type. I take a PT once during the week and twice on weekends, score them without marking the correct answers, and then re-do all incorrect answers and refer to the appropriate Bible if I can't figure it out.NYCLSATTutor wrote:What are you using to study? Its the LR thats hurting me the most I think. LG is always -2 to-4, RC is -1 to -3. My LR best was a -5 and its usually -6 to -8.

It sounds like you can still make some significant improvement in LR. Which types of questions are you most frequently missing? Perhaps you can target a couple specific problem types.

What Adjudicator said is not bad advice. You also might want to study in depth the questions you are getting wrong to try to figure out why you are getting them wrong, or alternatively try to post them to TLS and see what people say about them. It can be quite hard to figure out why you get a specific question wrong because once you see the right answer it becomes obvious, so its hard to remember/see what you were thinking before.

Yeah, you probably already know this, but just in case, go back and look at the ones you missed and ask yourself, "Why did I like this wrong answer? Why didn't I like this correct answer?"

haha jk. Congratulations on peaking at such great scores though. Here's to hoping for a 180.

I consistently get hurt by 2 parallel (esp parallel flaw), 1 principle (when similar to parallel in structure) and 1 assumption question. The rest are the "dumb mistakes" everyone talks about.
