Can someone please explain how they set this game up? I only missed one question on this game, but it really gave me trouble.

Easy calendar/matrix diagram... ;-)

The trick is to organize the elements according to the parts of the rules that are most important and/or fixed. In this case, that means the sequencing of the tasks. This cleanly shows the actors who can perform more than one task--the ones with two checks far from each other--and cascades from left to right. Easy on the eyes and functional, hopefully. The barrier around S is the positive statement that there has to be a day cutoff either before or after so that t and p are separated.

Hope this makes some sense.

The five tasks have to be in this order: FWTSP

Only some people can do each job:

Code: Select all

   I/K L/O G/L H/K/M H/I/O
  _____ _____ _____ _____ _____
   F W T S P

Taping and Priming have to be on separate days, so it's either a two or three day job.

Q1.
a) no one can do W
b) correct answer
c) No one can do T
d) No one can do T
e) No one can do F

Q2.
There are a pair of workers, so day one and three must each have two jobs.
Day one. FW, possible workers are IKLO
Day two, SP, possible workers are HIKMO

People in both sets are IKO

a) Not in set
b) in set, but both do F on day one, so wrong answer
c) Not in set
d) In set, correct answer
e) Not in set

Q3.
Didn't work through this one, as a is correct answer. Group is HIKM, but none of those can do W, so must be correct answer.

Q4.
Three days with sanding on 3rd day means two possible distributions

FW | T | SP
or
F | WT | SP

From our chart above, we can see that for one task, T, we need G/L and for two tasks, WT we need two from G,L and O

We can quickly do this through elimination

a) Not G/L
b) not G/L
c) not G/L
D) not G/L/O
E) Correct answer

Q5
a) G can only tape, so can't do two tasks
b) KH could do SP but not FW
c) IL can do FW but not TS or SP
d) Correct answer
e) LO can do WT but not SP

Looking at the two answers. my choice of the diagram above rather than the matrix is probably influenced by PowerScore - I think they try and direct you away from using a matrix because of the time spent in creation, not helped by a ruler not being allowed in the test.

If you can draw it quickly enough, it's a fine approach and might work better for some people. I'm used to using a single line and that works for me.
