I'm stuck on a 167. How do I get a higher score?

I've been studying for almost 2 months. I've taken a princeton review course. In the course, we've covered the material from about 10 prep tests and I've taken about 10 prep tests on my own. I've been making steady progress.

I started at a 155 (without having any idea what a logic game was). I was then stuck at a 161 a few weeks ago and now I'm stuck at a 167. I don't really know how to improve from here.

I'm thinking about getting the Kaplan 180 book, but I'm really not sure what to do. i typically get about 2 or 3 wrong on 3 of the sections and then there's one section were i get 5 or 6 wrong and screw it up. I'm going for a 172, but obviously would love to have a higher score than that.

Does anyone have any advice for really honing my skills and cutting out my last few mistakes?

Just study the questions you get wrong and find the pattern. Its tedious, most people can't be bothered, but in most cases, I think its the only way to start nailing -10 or less on each test.

Once you hit the high 160s, you know the material, you just need to learn your specific problems, which a book won't help with.

I'm in a similar situation. I read the Princeton Review LSAT prep book in a month, then started taking practice tests. I scored in the 150s on the first 2 I took (the free one on the LSAC website and one from the PR book), but then improved my score to the 166-168 range. I can't seem to get above 168 and am not sure if I should just keep on doing practice tests or get one of the PowerScore Bibles. My main problem is pacing - I always run out of time and don't have enough time to read a few questions.

I was having the same problem, I was stuck for two weeks on 166. . .What you should do depends on what is causing the problem, which section. I was having trouble finishing logic games and I'm still fixing that with pacing practice. There was a problem with RC, so I started cherry picking which section to do first. . .now I've finally made it to 170-171, so I'm reviewing each problem missed and writing explanations for why their answer is the right one. I really, really need to hit 173!

I've been using websites and books to look for small tweaks to my strategy. . .read the whole beginning of SuperPrep and got some good advice.. . .then just started googling for strange things that have helped others at the same rut.

Accept your ineptitude and inability to score a 170+ score. A 167 will get into an adequate school fyy. It's not the end of the world if you have to settle for BU

Ughhh not you again. Were you banned for the past month?

OP don't listen to this clown - you have nearly two months to raise your average 3 points.

This is some utter B.S., dukelawguy144, how about you accept these nuts in your mouth. :P

rb23, two months is nothing. I spent a year of on and off studying. The gains, especially from 165 and upwards, are hard to come by without a lot of taxing work. Keep hitting the books (PS Bibles), review questions, both right and wrong, and decreasing your time allotment for each section, aim for 30 min per section if you can.

Thanks for all the great suggestions! I guess it's just a matter of taking my studying to the next level and speeding up a bit. I won't bother buying any books and will stick to the practice exams.

Is doing the same practice exam twice worth it or should I be saving up a bunch of fresh exams to do over the next two months?
