I don't understand why the right answer is correct. It seems to be a strengthener rather than a weakener. Doesn't the stimulus state that fewer books of quality are being published?

EDIT: damn. I confused PUBLISHED with WRITTEN. Didn't even notice that the answer choice said written. Obviously then, it's easy to see why B is correct. No wonder I had trouble selling myself on any of the other choices!
