Whats up guys...

I took my diagnostic last week and got a 160.

I've taken three diagnostics since then and pulled in a 151, a 151, and a 151.

Its safe to say, I'm a 151 scoring person right now...

The 160 that I got was PT9.

The 151's were from PT's in the 40's (i don't remember the exact number)


With that being said, I start the PowerScore full length next week. I will do every bit of the homework I'm given. period.

How much can I reasonably expect to gain throughout the course and before I take the LSAT in October?

10 points at least I would say. I took a diagnostic and got a 155, did the PS bibles and got a 169. Both tests were relatively recent.

Where did you see most of the decline in your score (LR/LR/RC, etc)? 160 to 151 is pretty big.

Don't put too much importance on PT scores from before the 40s. PT 9 is a loooooooong time ago, the curve was much more lenient then, and the questions were a bit different as well.

The really early PTs are very different from recent PTs.

That is what I'm starting to figure out... I just don't want to run out of practice tests from PT40 and newer.

Don't get me wrong, the early ones are very useful for practicing & honing your skills. Just don't put too much importance on the actual numerical score that you get.

Your improvement will probably hinge on the nature of your mistakes. Are you finding yourself struggling with a particular section? Is the timing getting to you? Knowing your weaknesses and focusing on them will take you a long way in getting the score you want.
