I was lucky enough to receive McGraw-Hill's Conquering LSAT Logic Games 2ed: MGH Conquering LSAT Logic Games
and McGraw-Hill's LSAT, 2010 Edition for free from a friend

Just wondering what people here think of them as a good place to start off..or whether I should stick to LG bible and the other popular ones

Do not use them, waste of time. I bought one and it did more harm than good. Search the forum and you will see similar advice.

Very not good books.

Sell them to someone else you'll be competing with and use the money to buy the Powerscore Bibles.

The responses here are correct. I will provide some explanation. I briefly used a McGraw Hill 2009 LSAT book at the beginning of my prep. The problem with their books is that they do not use real LSAT questions - they attempt to write their own. The LSAC is very precise in the way they write their questions, and they are very difficult to emulate. Using fake LSAT questions, while better than nothing, is far inferior to using real questions. You will invariably develop bad habits or have an unrealistic view of your own performance if you study the fake McGraw Hill questions.

I also remember that some of the answers in the McGraw Hill logic games book were actually wrong. I would repeatedly kick your friend until he/she falls to the ground.

Your better off with PowerScore. But it's still a good idea to read through EVERYTHING. Just to make sure there's not a strategy out there that you are missing.

personal story: i used this for my prep, it took about 2 days to get through because it's mostly fluff and backwards rules, the three "preptests" are fake and offer NO way to gague your progress...unfortunately for me I learned too late that substantial prep material is a must, went into the lsat thinking i'd make in the high 160's low 170's, got a 163 and realized i'd been duped!! McGraw-Hill can kiss my ass, and I recommed you adopt the same attitude!!
