All,

I am almost convinced that the LSAT LG answer choices may be flawed....

Take a look at PT 20, Game 3, # 17.

I honestly believe B is also a correct answer. The clues mention that G may be positions adjacently.

Set up:
PYRPYRGG0

Seventh, Eighth and Ninth would be G,G,O respectively....

Am I missing something here? The answer key claims answer choice E.

The problem with that solution is that it breaks the fourth rule. There must be an O within the first eight beads.

i don't get this question as well. i understand this rule, but according to the correct answer, it is PRYPRYGOO. but i thought the other rule says green is the only colour that can be placed adjacent to each other? it doesn't say anywhere that the rule only applies to an 8-bead strand?

I think you misread the correct answer. It's possible that the ninth bead is yellow, not orange.

Based on the Q, the you're give the two purples and two yellows:

P Y _ P Y _ _ _ _

Based on the first rule, reds take up 3 and 6:

P Y R P Y R _ _ _

Based on the last rule, the first 8 beads need all five colors, so you still need O and G. Since you can't have RO (by the third rule), the order must be:

P Y R P Y R G O _

The ninth bead can't be O (based on the second rule) and can't be R (based on the third rule). But it can be Y, G, or P. Since it can be Yellow, (E) is correct. Final look:

P Y R P Y R G O Y.
