159 then 162... should I take it a third time?

First, I really want to go to the University of Texas Law School. I graduated from UT and am from Austin, and have been living in NY for 3 years now but am ready to go back home.
I was pre-testing at 165-166 but "choked" on the second test, getting just a 162. I failed to start my watch for one section, and wrote down the wrong entity on one logic game which completely unraveled that section.
I got a 3.73 at UT. Should I take the LSAT a third time or is it a waste of time? I think I could get up to 165, but is it frowned upon to take 3 times to get to that score?
Please help as I need to make this decision ASAP!
Best,
Patrick

Why not? Your practice tests were higher than your score, and improving by even a few points would only help your application.

Yeah, but don't most people drop around 3 points on the real thing?

The only "why not" factor playing in my head is the slim possibility of getting the same score or (gasp) getting a lower score.
I honestly believe that neither would happen, but there is always the chance, ya know?
I just wonder if a 3.73 from the same University, being a minority (I am 3/4 Mexican) and a 162, with a solid personal statement, would be enough as it is. I feel like a 164-165 would get me in with all that taken into consideration, 162 not so much...

doesn't matter, you aren't really going to hurt your chances at any of the schools you'd get into right now, and if you really want UT, you should retake.

Your chances are nil at UT w/o retake.

162 / URM / 3.7+ = Very good shot at UT.

Only read OP. I'd still retake.

Exactly what I wanted to hear, but is it too good to be true? Do you know people with same credentials that got in to UT or similarly rated school?
Just would like to know this was a qualified response. Thanks for helping out!
