Maybe February LSAT instead

Hello all. Hope 4th of July treated you well.
I have been prepping for the LSAT so that I can sit for it in October. I took a logic course during the last spring semester to get me started, and I am using Blueprint the movie now. I plan on buying the bibles soon. I'm going into my junior year now, so I've got some wiggle room to take the LSAT. I want to score 170+, and I'm thinking to instead hold off until February for 2 reasons:
1) I don't want to take the LSAT around finals week. Even though I do well when under pressure for many things, I don't want to experiment with the LSAT. So Dec. is out.
2) I want to make sure I'm scoring in the 170s consistently on PTs. With my rate of improvement so far, I think it may take me longer to get in that range than I'd previously estimated.
Has anyone else experienced something like this? I've read older threads on here, but I am looking for some fresh perspective, too. I'm worried that extending my studying period so much might backfire. Any thoughts?
