First of all, I would just like to say this site is simply amazing with an endless amount of resources available.

I'm starting my junior yr in UG, so by next fall I will begin the process of applying to LS. I was curious as to when everyone decided to take the LSAT(current LS or undergrads). I've already begun my preliminary studying. I plan to have finished my study book by summers end and then take as many PT as possible. However, during the academic year, we all know how condensed our schedules can be. Preferably, I would like to take the test in June 2011 to allow a month of next summer for PT's. But if I don't score as planned, the next testing date isn't until September, right when applications are being accepted. Any advice from previous experience or what your current stratagies are?

Anyways a first take in June with a retake in Sept. is fine. Your application will still be considered early IF (and this requires commitment) you finish all your application stuff during the time you are waiting for your score. Just apply a day or two after you get your Sept. score and you'll be decently early.

Take it in June 2011 if you're planning on applying Fall 2011. If you score poorly, the September administration is early enough to allow you to take it and still get those apps in relatively early. Don't take it in February; the February administration is undisclosed, meaning they don't tell you what you got wrong and they don't release the test, which makes it difficult to see your weaknesses and prepare for a retake. Just make sure that, if you decide to retake in September, you have everything else for your apps ready to go when the scores are released so you can keep that early submission date.
