How do you go about reviewing/tackling LR questions that you had trouble with under timed situation but when you later look at the question during review you get it and is able to correct your mistakes? I find these questions the most frustrating because I am able to get the answer, so it's not knowledge that is lacking, yet at the same time I couldn't get it under timed situation. What do you so that you can get these questions right the first time around?

A lot of the times, I find that when I make a mistake under these situations, it was either because I misread something or because I didn't fully grasp the concept/structure when I first did it. But when I came back to it during review, the concept/structure just clicked so I had no trouble solving the question.

You hit the nail on the head. It's all about the details. The mind always wants to look for familiar words and quickly makes assumptions. DON'T DO THIS!!! Make sure that you read the question carefully.

There's no secret weapon for getting things right the first time around other than lots of timed practice. The reason I like students to move away from untimed practice as soon as possible is precisely this; most of the questions are pretty easy given no time limits.

That said, if you're missing a ton of questions because you have to turbo through them, maybe it's time you adjust your strategy a bit. Just do 20 questions really well (cut out 17-22, generally the hardest in the section). As you build stamina and confidence, add them back in. Let me know if you have any questions.

To combat this I made a list of why I was missing these questions. Did I not read the prompt? Did I mark out and answer that was right early on and then not re-consider it? Then I tried to figure out strategies to not make that mistake again.

hmm.. you make a good point. I guess there isn't anything special that needs to be done except get used to the timed constraint.
