LG Bible states that the incorrect answers are all of the same kind; for this question of a game where the stem(stim?) is a "must be true" type they should all be of the "could be true" type.

my question: who's mistaken? me or LG Bible?

When the question stem asks for a "must be true", incorrect answers can be either:

"coulds" that are not "musts" (such as choices D and E in the question you reference)

OR

"cannots" (such as choices A and C in the question you reference)


For this particular question, the hypothetical is:

G....F....J....H
X/Y.V..Y/X..W

1....2....3....4

i'll take this opportunity to ask another question. it occurs to me that all of the majors in this game are letters from the beginning of the alphabet and all the non-majors are from the end. is this always the case? that objects which are similar have names (letters) which are close together in the alphabet?

It's not always the case, but it is often the case.

so then what are the formats for the incorrect answers on the questions?

They are only can't be true.

hurray logical oppposites. LGB does a good job covering this in one of its earlier chapters, go back and drill yourself on it until it becomes second nature, it'll take about 10 minutes of reading and note taking and about 40 questions of you constantly reminding yourself that they apply in the above noted format.
