Proctor made a big mistake. Can I get a free retest?

The proctor issued the 5 minute warning on the first section when there were 10 minutes remaining. This really messed me up! If I complain can I get a free retest for October? Who specifically do I need to contact?

Did they actually cut your time short? Or did you still have the full 10 minutes? I don't think they will allow you anything if you got the actual time. Sometimes they don't call out the warning at all, or they call it too short, like there may only be 3 minutes left. No harm in trying, but don't get your hopes up.

Nope, Florida.
We still got the full 10 minutes but the proctor didn't fix her mistake for a couple minutes so everyone in that room had to change their pace and rush

This sucks man. Not as bad as having it called when there is only 3 minutes remaining, but still.
All you can do is contact the LSAC explain the situation and hope for the best.

Except for the fact that this is a mindfuck administered by an LSAC employee. We had no choice but to assume that in 5 minutes our section was over and we were not going to be permitted to fill in any remaining bubbles. If you were like me, you had 8 questions remaining for what you thought would be 5 minutes. The result was panic/overdrive. Then when minute 31 came and I realized the proctor did indeed fail at his one job, I had no choice but to go and review those answers which were hastily completed. His mistake could have cost me 3-4 correct answers.

Not for me, bro. Had he waited until minute 32 I would have just assumed he forgot to give the warning. The fact that he gave the warning at minute 25 had me convinced that
I had screwed the pooch. My anxiety meter was in the red after that.

The fact that the two of you experienced the same thing in two different places does not bode well for the idea that they would give you a free retest. If it effected you that badly, I would just cancel and retake, but you will likely have to pay yourself.

This same exact thing happened to me last year.
Submit a formal complaint to LSAC. They will issue you a letter and giving you three choices: a.) score the test as normal, b.) score the test and report to law schools that there was an error, c.) cancel your score due to proctor error and give you the opportunity to retest in October for free.

I understand your complaint, and like i said, no harm in trying, but I am guessing they do nothing.

oh, well there you go, they do have a means for this. But you have to cancel in order to get the free one, that kind of sucks. I guess you better know how you feel about what you did.

I'm sure it is easy to say as an outsider who was not there, but aren't you always supposed to choose accuracy over speed...
