I can't see how this could possibly end badly. Carry on.

PT Average: 166.7
No previous LSATS
I have no reasonable idea, I feel like 145, but I always severely underestimate how I do on tests
Bad LG
Not in America, average scores of schools I am targeting 167, 164

Re: USS BP Decides whether you should cancel your LSAT
Okay, I will repost from another topic.
1st LSAT
PT average: 170
PT range: 167-174
Estimate on this LSAT: 165? If that? Maybe higher? I have no idea.
Second half was a breeze, but I panicked during the first section and may or may not have done well on that (LR) and 2/4 of the games. I finished everything with the exception of 1 or 2 blind guesses, which I never had to take on PTs.
Targeting 2 T14s and 2 T1s.
Just waiting for someone to agree that I should cancel...

Unless you have a solid reason to cancel, you shouldn't cancel. You might be canceling a 168. This is doubly true if you have a history of underestimating yourself.justinmcl wrote:PT Average: 166.7

Also there is no promise you'd have less nerves in the future. You might do just as bad in the future.

Only 1 or 2 blind guesses? Unless those T14's are NYU, then don't cancel. Most lower t14, don't average.DCApplicant2011 wrote:Okay, I will repost from another topic.

Well you shouldn't. You should cancel if you had a serious problem like bubbling incorrectly or puking your guts out during one of the sections or something. You don't cancel because you feel like maybe you didn't do as well as normal.DCApplicant2011 wrote:Okay, I will repost from another topic.

Great thread...although you gave me an opinion before, i will post again.
PT Average Lately scored: PT 59 167, PT 55 164, PT 56 167....some 160 and 161's[/i]...I'm not sure the average, but i only happen to get 159 once, did a test late evening, was exhausted, didn't care, missed like crazy...otherwise, 160+.
Previous LSATs (2007 cancel-was a big mistake to take it, 2010 JUNE pending cancellation...)
What you think you'll get on this LSAT - Borderline 150-151 (maybe even less).
Why you think you did bad on this LSAT- LG section bombed it (guessed on last 2 games), RC (guessed on the last passage), Section 5 LR3 bad... (was exhausted due to the performance on the LG, RC) + SICK.
Schools you are targeting: T20 (1-20)
So...Planning to take in OCT (will have 2 cancellations on file)
Have a good GPA (3.89 Univ, but LSDAS 3.6), very good softs, great LR's, good work experience, double major, doing Master's in Accounting...

PT Average: 172
Previous LSATs (including cancels): None.
What you think you'll get on this LSAT: 165-169
Why you think you did bad on this LSAT: Had to blindly guess on five questions.
Which level of schools you are targeting: T6, preferably.

You say most under the Top 14 Schools do NOT average scores and just take the highest? Is there some site that lists this, or any other threads? Or.. is it just most wise to call the schools we're interested in and check it out.Desert Fox wrote:DCApplicant2011 wrote:Okay, I will repost from another topic.

I can't think of a single school outside of the top ten that actually averages scores.Marino13 wrote:You say most under the Top 14 Schools do NOT average scores and just take the highest? Re: USS BP Decides whether you should cancel your LSAT
My LSAT story:
I didn't take too many PTs, so I never had a really good idea of what I was able to score. In chronological order, they were 162, 160, 165, 169, 170.
The day I took the real LSAT I felt awful. I ran out of time and literally blind guessed on the entire last logic game. I honestly thought I had scored in the low 160s. Depression hit me for the next week or so as I knew deep down I would be retaking.
My actual score: 170. It turned out that while I missed 6 on logic games, I only missed 1 RC and a couple LR.
The moral: Your feelings after the test aren't always a good indicator of your score.

Re: USS BP Decides whether you should cancel your LSAT
You're more willing than me to advise canceling anyway, but maybe I should have asked what it meant to guess on 2 LGs and an RC passage. Complete blind guessing on all those questions, then I guess it's fine to cancel. Educated guessing between a few good choices on some of those questions, you're just worrying too much.Desert Fox wrote:This person should cancel. Re: USS BP Decides whether you should cancel your LSAT
I canceled the first time because i realized i wasn't ready to take this test. I took a shitty prep course, its out of business, i didn't know a lot about the LSAT. What i know today...if i knew back then...i would have never taken it! I basically would have gotten in the 140's range. No, you should not cancel again, you are probably just worrying too much. Why did you cancel the first time?
Fast forward ... came to this test strong. Did the first LR in a breeze. Although i had to guess on 2, plus im sure i got some incorrect, i didn't feel bad.
LG changed it all ... i pretty much bombed my strongest section. RC followed, wasn't good. Anyways, i had to guess on a lot of questions, a lot.
I remember doing some older PT's from like a year or more ago, which i didn't touch. I took a clean copy, and i got scored such as 175, 177, 178 and so on. I know, i saw them long ago, so it wont count, but not doing them a year plus shows that i am not a dumb ass.
Otherwise, lately i scored in the 160's.
That's why i can afford to have a 150, although 2 cancels are a soft suicide...

Re: USS BP Decides whether you should cancel your LSAT
PT Average: Mid 160's, but with a significant improvement in consistent LR and RC -1s in the last three weeks before the test.
Previous LSATs: Zero
What I think I'll get: Ranges from 159-168, depending on how lucky I was on the last two games of the LG section. The rest of the test, I think, was fine. The second LR section caused me some trouble because I was still mentally recovering from the LG beating. I managed to pull it together and finish the section before time and check my answers on a few tough ones. I may be feeling a false sense of security here, though.
What I did badly: Blindly guess on 6-8 logic games questions.
Where I'm aiming: Lower end of the t-14. UTX Law, SMU, University of Houston. The last two will hopefully be safeties.
Cancel or no? Everyone seems to be telling me not to cancel, that they have a hunch I did better than I expected. I'm not so sure.

Re: USS BP Decides whether you should cancel your LSAT
PT Average: mid 170s. Got a 177 on the only new test I had available - Dec 2009. Did the whole test 33 minutes per section. Obviously felt great and confident coming into the test.
Previous LSATs (including cancels) 170
What you think you'll get on this LSAT 168-172 depending on how lucky I was on guesses and curve.
Why you think you did bad on this LSAT (misbubble, panic, etc etc) Blanked out on one LG - forced to guess on all the questions (6), also had to guess on one more in the second game. Everything else seems to have gone really well. Finished LR with time to spare, finished RC on time but head to guess on one. So total guesses - 8. and still a chance that I missed more questions somewhere else.
And also which level of schools you are targeting: T3, T6, T13, T1, T2, TTT, TTTT - T3
