Jone 2010 Logic Games

Post by boomer07 » Mon Jun 07, 2010 6:45 pm

Did anyone else have a really hard time with these. I have been averaging -2 on these (with one -5) and I had to guess on 9!!!!!!!!! As if -9 wasnt enough to tank me, I dont think I got 100% on what I did answer. The first game took me almost 12 minutes, I stared at the 3rd game for three minutes and the fourth took me well over ten and still guessed on two...so long hundreds of hours of studying...I'm one and done, I refuse to retake this bastard. Hope all else did well tho!

I've heard the games on this one were a bit tougher than those on recent exams.

At least a few people say that after every exam, though. :)

I know exactly how you feel. I've been consistently going -0/-1 on every LG section, and I've always finished with at least five minutes left. This one, though... was straight out of Hell. I had to guess on one of the mulch questions, and I had to guess on 3-4 of the intern questions. I actually thought the entire section was harder than usual. None of the games was really easy. Let's hope the LSAC recognizes this in the curve.

I thought these games were considerably easy after the Feb games. That's just me though... seemed relatively straight forward--no grouping or in/out.

I'm in the same boat as OP. I've been averaging -2 on all other games. These weren't necessarily tough. They were just different. I think I had everything correct up to the last game, where I guessed on all 6 questions. Sigh....

i thought these were hard - i had to guess on the last 5 because i ran out of time and i haven't run out of time on a games section since i first started studying

logic games is usually my strongest section too

ho hum

the mulch game was pretty old school in my opinion. Remember stuff like that from the early tests

I'm usually -0 on games... I had to guess on the last three of the intern game. I felt like I was doing great, I finished the first game in like five minutes. The mulch game wasn't too bad, it was a lot like the older games. It did throw me off at first though. I don't know where I lost all my time :( Two of the last three were complete shots in the dark and the third was a 50/50 guess. I feel pretty confident about everything else though. Hopefully I make up for it in the other sections.

I thought the first two games were a joke, mulch was moderate, interns was moderate if you saw the intuitive jump and impossible if you didn't.

What on earth was the intuitive jump? I'm positive there was one, I just could not see it. If anyone knows, please PM me because I am confused.

I had two logic games section on my test, both of which I found easier than recent tests.

The logical reasoning though......

It was so hard! I had been only getting -0 or -2 on LG up to now, but I had to fill in straight E's with seven problems. It caused me to panic in the middle of the test, which probably didn't help out much either.

I thought the games sucked. I knew I couldn't reach my goal score because of how bad I bombed them so I cancelled. It was my 2nd section and I had to guess on around 11. Also like you I'm not 100% all my other answers were correct.

Is anyone who took the test in December still around besides me? Because there was definitely a mulch/stones experimental section on that test...I saw another experimental LG section, but people were talking about that game afterwards. It has to be the same/mostly the same right? I didn't realize LSAC used experimental sections so quickly.

SO HARD. I felt like I was taking a diagnostic for the first time. And on Sept. 09 I got -2.

I can't remember what the first game was, but I remember that it took me a lot longer than I wanted it to, so I was starting to panic a bit when I got done with it. But the second game was sequencing with a conditional, and I did that one really quick. I figured out the mulch/stone game easily. Had time problems on the last game though, I managed to come up with an answer for everything, not just a complete guess, but I wasn't real confident in some of them, just had to pick the first one that seemed good without checking them thoroughly. On the drive home, of course, it took me like 4 seconds of thinking to come up with the inference that would have made that game so much faster, argh.

Still a little afraid that I made a blunder somewhere and copied a rule wrong or something and killed my score.

I thought the mulching game was incredibly easy. The rules were very simple. I wish I could draw you my diagram but I will wait until after the test. This is coming from a person who thinks -4/5 on LG is good.

I did that game in about 6 and half minutes. I think a lot of people get lost in the diagramming world and just totally forget common sense games like that one.

Game 4, on the other hand, was pretty difficult.

If you want an explanation on the mulch game, PM me (if that is allowed; if it is not, please let me know).

I concur with the Mulch/Stone being old school.

And I screwed up the rules on the last game and had to scramble. Hopefully I only missed the -3 that I didn't get to re-look at it.

I didn't get to look back over the other games either, which I typically have time to do. Hopefully this will make for a good curve...

I was really hoping the section with the mulches didn't count. I guess it does....wtf...thanks guys...I how two games. THought I murdered the first one, but that mulches left me blank. I think it's because I hadn't seen anything like it in forever. The last one was obnoxious and I spent so much time on the first one that I shouldn't have I was pressed for time. Great.

These games seemed significantly more difficult than the previous few (released) tests. I had a huge sinking feeling when time was called... not gonna be a good three weeks.

Anything vague you can share about what you misread?

Agreed. Mulch was simple, although I just plugged and chugged. Fourth game will be influencing the curve for sure.

I knew when I didn't get the first question right out of the gate something was wrong. I average -2/4 on LG, I had a small panic attack here, guessed pretty much the last 5 of the section (ran out of time), and screwed the pooch on the mulch/stone question, not realizing that you had to sweep when you changed substances. If I got a -10 on the section I'd consider myself fortunate. I'm glad i'm not the only one who thought this section was something else

edit: - dec '08 I got -1 on the other day, this section was way harder without and in/out game (which I studied my fucking ass off for!!!). LSAC are in league with satan im certain.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
