taking lsat overseas

Post by dkentrepreneur » Sat Jun 05, 2010 9:56 pm

I might have to take the oct lsat in south korea. Will the test be different? Someone had told me that the tests are slightly different from the ones given in United States.

The tests are written in Korean. And you have to hold them up to a mirror to read them. And five minutes into each section, the proctors turn off all the lights in the room. At fifteen minutes in, they start flicking them on and off in quick succession.

...Actually, I have no idea. But I'd like to know the answer, too. Do Korean proctors speak English?

Yes, it'll be a different exam. The format is not different - just the actual questions are different, so that people who take in North America wouldn't be able to report the specific test content to people overseas.

Some people on here have said that it is harder. However, making it significantly harder would skew the test results and defeat the purpose of standardized testing in the first place, so that wouldn't really make sense. It's probably not going to be strikingly different.

i took the test at both yonsei university and sookmyung women's univ-jongno in seoul.

the proctors spoke enough english, and all directions were given in english, of course. the test itself is different than the one given in the states, and it's undisclosed, which sucks cuz you'll never know where you effed up. based on the pt's i took before, i don't think it was harder, though.

yonsei >>> sookmyung, if you have a choice, btw.
