Top Law Schools

I'm sure this has been asked, but can someone please clarify for me:
do law schools average your LSAT scores? or look at your highest?

Conventional wisdom is that they take the highest since thats the one they get to report in admissions statistics. Some schools say that they do niether and evaluate application in light of both scores.

How do the T14 schools evaluate your scores if you take the LSAT multiple times?

Every school is different. Some average, some take highest score, some don't say. Search around on these forums... a guy compiled a list of the top 50 or so law schools and what they claim to do with multiple LSAT scores.

T14 law schools vary....

some use "elusive" language that seems to discourage this practice....but admission cycles are the best indicators of how these schools handle this issue ....and with the exception of (YHS)...most will take the highest LSAT score. However, many were actually waitlisted at Harvard this cycle with multiple LSAT scores....not sure about their outcomes....

Columbia this cycle was taking multiple LSAT scores....NYU.....as well.

U Chicago and Penn....state right on their websites that they will accept the highest LSAT.

An interview with the Dean at Berkeley....recently...stated they take the highest LSAT....

Though many people were waitlisted at HLS with multiple LSATs, many people with multiple LSATs were also accepted outright. I dk about YS, but H appears to view multiple LSATs as a minor negative soft at worst... if you're a 164/171/175 vs. a 175 (one-time test taker) it certainly doesn't help you, but its not going to preclude admission either.

Not only does it depend on school, it depends how borderline you are at that school. NYU for example averages when it's looking for an excuse to ding you.
