Want Your Guys Opinion

Post by Kyle2 » Fri May 28, 2010 1:16 pm

I am in NY and looking for a tutor. I found the link to this site from a tutor who posted on Craigslist.

I am deciding whether or not to use him and wanted to hear what you guys had to say about his site. I think it looks great and I like what he writes. But, I just started studying so...

In the CL ad, he said that it is "under construction.

Thanks!

Edit: Sorry. http://www.WantMy180.com

Looks pretty good. I'm better though ;-).

Truthfully, you wont know if he's any good until you meet him. And PLEASE ask to see his score report.

I'm always reassured by tutors who publish blogs containing grammar errors.

Hey, the guys name is Devin, I spoke to him and he sounded alright, but I opted for someone else. Never learned from him though so I can't really say good or bad, but I wasn't impressed enough to choose him. Goodluck

Just because he got a 180 doesn't necessarily make him a good tutor. I've tutored and tend to get impatient with students. Sometimes someone who has struggled through the same types of things as you can be a better tutor. Ask if you can meet him for a free session to talk about his methods. Maybe you can get a sense for whether it would be a good match.

His name is on his site...

But thanks for the feedback. I finally just called and spoke to him. He seemed really knowledgeable about the test so I went for a session.

Anyway, he really knows his stuff and I think he teaches it well. (Of course, everyone learns differently so that doesn't mean he's good, but I've really improved so far so I'll take it as a sign that he's good for me. (Went from 15+ wrong on games to approximately 5 and still improving; went from 11+ wrong on LR to around 6 and also still improving).

I told him about the typo, he fixed it. Said to say thanks ;-)

But, IMHO, the LSAT tests logical reasoning not grammar, one could suck at grammar and still ace the test....
